PECCATUM's IHRIEL Collaborates With Japanese Author
October 18, 2006Mnemosyne Productions, the company owned/operated by partners Ihsahn (EMPEROR frontman) and wife Heidi S. Tveitan (a.k.a. Ihriel) since 2003, has announced a collaboration between the Japanese author Kenji Siratori and Tveitan. Kenji Siratori has provided the lyrics and spoken words that Heidi's STAROFASH solo project has turned into music. The first song from this collaboration is eloquently titled "Neo Drugismo".
"It has been great fun to work with words I can only feel and not understand," Heidi says. "This cooperation has been a wonderful experience for me so far, and I'm looking forward to pursue it further. To me Kenji's texts express a mixture of surrealism and mayhem, where underneath the violence lays a core of truth and contemplation."
You can hear the result of these two forces combined at www.starofash.com.
STAROFASH is the solo project of Heidi S. Tveitan (a.k.a. Ihriel) of the acclaimed experimental metal act PECCATUM. After several years and releases with PECCATUM, she developed ideas for a new musical entity, soon supported and signed to the Norwegian label, Jester Records, in 2001.
STAROFASH's debut album "Iter.Viator" (2002),is described in a press release as "a poetic and graceful drama, a melancholic movement over strings, guitars, keyboards, drums and voices, echoing CURRENT 93, early DEAD CAN DANCE and CRAIG ARMSTRONG soundtracks. This album pushes the boundaries of traditional genre categorization and instrument usage, while remaining true to a soulful pattern that is Heidi S. Tveitan's alone. 'Iter.Viator' also presents guest appearances by members of EMPEROR and ULVER."
Mnemosyne Productions was established as an outlet for Ihsahn and Ihriel's musical collaborations as well a place for new talent and innovative artists.
